I’ll be 53 in August I quit my job sold everything I own I have a car payment and a small check from the VA and I’ll be hitting the road Monday morning . Wish me luck.

I would love to quit but children = poverty, and I have two poverties preventing me from retiring just now. So yes, I sit in my car and listen away, then go home and watch them eat $350 worth of groceries in two day!!!

For us (my wife and myself) we have been together since we were 13 and now in our 50's. One thing we realized is stuff is nothing more then just that."stuff" The quest for that American dream of the house with the white picket fence and the 2.5 children is nothing more then a illusion developed to keep you working and spending money. So we sold everything we own (very liberating of a feeling) Converted a old school bus into a self contained offgrid tiny house on wheels. We now travel the country enjoying life together instead of just "surviving" life. When you have nothing but what you can fit in a bus your life becomes so simple, cheap and freeing. Not saying its for everyone but what I will say is find what's for you and do it before its to late. Don't make it about acquiring more things either. Just remember you never see a hearse pulling a Uhaul behind it.
