Just went to Italy this week. You just scan your passport and then scan your fingerprints and wait for it to take your picture/scan your face. The process is fast. It’s just that you’re using a machine and some people move slower than others or the machine has a hiccup and it backs the line up. It took us about an extra 45 min.

Just clarifying, if my flight is direct to Italy I do not have to do anything prior to going, I should just expect it to take longer to get out of the airport? Also, once it’s done, is it good for all other countries or do they all require their own?

Thanks for sharing! My experience of EES in May, flying from Los Angeles to Paris, was a breeze! We waited 15 minutes, no finger prints, they just took a photo, and that was it! I’ve heard the horror stories of long lines, luckily that wasn’t our experience!
