I wish I had the guts to change ONLY the name on my resume from Kristine to a more age-ambiguous name. After applying for a lot of jobs and getting literally not a single call in 6 months, I’m convinced it has to be my name that is flagging. I’ve changed everything else.

I was interviewed and the hiring manager said I was too old, I mean experienced. I got the offer after rounds but couldn’t take the job, because I knew they’d see me as old no matter what I did.

I was laid off April 21st and have now filled out well over 100 apps. I am AMAZED at the number of companies that ask for college attendance dates. Such a red flag. One even flat out asked for my birthdate.
