@boobtofood: Peanut is one of the most important allergens to introduce when starting solids and early introduction may help reduce the risk of peanut allergy developing by up to 80%! But peanut can also be a choking risk, so to introduce safely: Whole peanuts should never be offered to babies. Always thin peanut butter with breastmilk, formula or water until smooth and runny as it can be claggy and a choking risk. When introducing peanut: Start with a very small amount (around 1/8 teaspoon) Gradually increase the amount over 3 separate exposures If tolerated, continue offering peanut regularly as part of your baby’s diet (recommendation is weekly!) There’s no need to be exact with measurements. Think small to start, then gradually increase over subsequent exposures.
