and once they’ve paid it fully it will need a new roof, kitchen, bathroom ETC. definitely not an investment unless you sell and move somewhere cheaper.

a mortgage is transferrable you do not need to remain the 5he same home for your mortgage term? plus whats the alternative pay someone elses mortgage?

Bought my house for £630k, upgraded and extended it, now worth £1.6m 14 yrs later with £420k left on the mortgage. Great investment.

Aaron Can I ask do you live in a rented apartment? Do you write it off against tax? Did you buy your house outright ? Property is a big investment . Bought my home 9 years ago . Got mortgage, it’s gone up by approximately 80k in value and will go up more . Mortgage is small and Iv got some very healthy savings . Different for people now but mortgage isn’t a devil

I'm sacrificing comfort to make £1400 a month for 6 years while living in London. I'm in a small shared flat, one single bedroom for £550 including all bills. I'm saving and investing now so I can retire early.

I got a house was employed started a business paid the mortgage off but needed the full time job to be able to secure it as getting mortgage self employed is near impossible
