@thorsten.gutmann: Finally rode Astana's new light rail. Did not expect this. Clean, modern, and the view gliding above the city is seriously futuristic. Closer to Dubai or Tokyo than to what most people picture when they hear Central Asia. And it is fully driverless. The line runs 22 kilometers from the airport into the city. First planned back in 2011, it took years of delays before it finally opened. In the first two weeks alone, a million people rode it. Best part: you tap and go. Card, phone, watch, whatever you have.
