My mother-in-law will never allow laziness near her sons even from another state she will still wake everybody 😂😭 This morning around 8am, we called mummy to greet her like we always do before starting our day. Just normal: “Mummy how are you? Hope you slept well?” Na so mummy say, “Give lastborn and uncle Neche the phone.” We told her they were still sleeping. My dear, mummy didn’t even allow breeze to blow.. she shouted: “BY THIS TIME?? Favour, you’re pampering them! With this hand you’re giving them, they’ll be lazy ooo!” Before I could say “mummy wait,” she already gave instructions: “Wake them up! Give them chores! Let them move body!” And even though she knows my house doesn’t really have plenty chores… I still obeyed my commander-in-chief 😂😂 Immediately, I switched to childhood mode. I marched to their room and started singing: “Teta n’ura, Jesus na-akpo gi…” (I know 90% of Nigerian families know that song. Wake-up national anthem 😭😂) They both woke up instantly because the song touched their childhood trauma button 😂😂 Next thing, I adjusted my shoulders, raised my head, feeling like the mummy of the house (which I am, proudly 😌😁). Then I shared chores like a true African mother: • Sweep • Mop • Wash plates • Wash visitors’ toilet • Clean chairs, tables, TV console • Dust flowers • Rewash all the plates in the plate rack • Anything wey resemble surface, clean it 😭😂 Immediately mummy heard I had started giving orders, she said: “That’s how we do it! Adim very proud of you.” Meanwhile, lastborn’s face this morning was giving: “Who send me come this house like this?” 😂😭
