@politicalparalysi: When Russia invaded Ukraine, oil companies made billions. Now conflict in the Middle East is pushing up prices and oil companies are making billions again. What I don't understand about this is why we accept that every crisis seems to leave ordinary people worse off while the same corporations walk away with record profits. Here in Norway the state owned oil company Eqinor (formerly Statoil), pays 95% tax to the state. This money goes into the state pension fund which invests all over the world.
