I wanted to be brave, but the fear felt bigger than me in that moment. People say, “You’ll be okay,” and I know they mean well. But when you're the one sitting there, feeling every heartbeat, every worry, every unknown... it's different. The fear is real. Even now, I think about that moment sometimes. Not because it hurt the most, but because I remember how vulnerable I felt. And yet, if I had to go through every bit of that fear again for my child, I would. I’d still be scared. I’d still be nervous. I’d probably cry again. But I would do it all over in a heartbeat.
