there's a saying, "to be, rather than to seem," and I completely agree with it. why should I pretend to be someone I'm not, even if it's for self-improvement? the essence of growth in life is in changes that others will notice, if you haven't been pretending all this time and have truly made some fundamental changes in your life/character/personality. there's no point in "larping", because it will only multiply by zero your efforts for others, and no growth will be noticeable. but, well, if you don't give a fuck about other people and their opinions then yes, I completely agree with you, it's a great strategy for self-improve
