@theradiologistpage: 👨🏽‍💻I always found this tricky to remember pre-radiology training. There are a few mnemonics out there that can help us remember, namely: ▫️She Looks Too Pretty Try To Catch Her ▫️Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can’t Handle ▫️Sally Left The Party To Take Cathy Home 👨🏽‍💻Although mnemonics can be great memory hooks, they can sometimes be more difficult to remember than the thing you’re actually trying to remember! 👨🏽‍💻I found it easier to piece apart the bones one by one: ▫️The CAPITATE sits in the middle and can be thought of as the ‘capital’ of the hand ▫️The HAMATE sits on the ulna side of the capitate and can be recognised by the hook which projects towards the palmar surface ▫️TrapeziUM sits under the thUMb ▫️’BesOID’ this is the trapeZOID ▫️The SCAPHOID is shaped like a boat 🚣‍♀️ and named after the Greek word skaphos (boat) ▫️The scaphoid sits next to the LUNATE - I always remember to look for scapholunate dissociation where there is an increased gap between the two bones - this helps me remember the lunate is next to the scaphoid ▫️You’re then left with the PISIFORM which you see as a smaller bone overlying the TRIQUETRAL 👨🏽‍💻Hopefully this can help you remember the carpal bones moving forward! 👉10000+ people have downloaded my free CXR signs guide: don’t miss out and grab yours by tapping the link in bio @theradiologistpage
