$89 and $600 is completely different than $1300+ making $12 and hr with taxes taking out 1/3 of your check plus utilities and other bills my grocery bill used to be $300 a month it’s still $300 but now with less items

I think Todd is talking about instincts. Yes the cost of living was less but pervious generations were more resourceful with less resources. We had a chip on our shoulder, a point to prove, a make it happen attitude. The new generation does a lot more complaining with a lot more ways to figure it out…

Wages have not increased with the rising costs of everything. Grandpa could support a family of 4, pay for college and take one vacation a year on one income. 22 yr olds today would need two fulltime working parents, and an extra part time job to buy a house or rent. Kids can't even be a conversation because childcare is more than housing.

Preach it Todd!! my husband has said i want my son to have more than i did. i don't want him changing his own oil like it did. ugh now the 27 year old knows how to do nothing and we are at fault!! ugh

I was married by 26 and 3 sons and I’m sorry but this is a different time. I can’t even explain it it feels different and even my 48 yr old self goes into the store and I’m in shock how expensive everything is. Anddd taxes are more … health insure keeps raining… utilities keep raising so yes it is different.
