I can relate to this. I got a multifamily rental and allows my parents to stay in one unit while the others are rented and I give them a monthly check off of the net rental income.

Idk stuff like this is triggering for me because in my case, I had to contribute to the household very early. It feels like a slap in the face to ask your children to help when you had ample time to save for your future. That cripples your child and their family because you’re another body they have to take care of. I would never ask my child to do this. Exactly why I’m getting myself together so that her future is as soft as possible.
