@cbsmornings: USAID operations used to help trace and treat past Ebola outbreaks in Africa, but now, health workers say they have been left blind, after the Trump administration pulled U.S. funding. The U.S. is now responding with attempts to keep the virus isolated in Central Africa, hoping to build a quarantine facility only for Americans. Meanwhile, aid groups in the Congo are working to open treatment centers. #ebola #kenya #congo #health

And yet they want Kenya to risk exposure to have a quarantine facility there.

So no other countries are able to help? Just the US? If the other countries contributed the amount the US did there wouldn’t be a deficit in funds.

These comments are rough!! The US spent less than 2% of tax payer’s fund each year to help with international aid because outbreaks don’t care about borders. Ebola outbreaks anywhere are a potential risk to the US (so the aide helps others and Americans- a win win)

We have given hundreds of billions to Africa. Why is this OUR permanent responsibility?! It’s a terrible tragedy but stop blaming the US/Trump! It’s infuriating.

The comments about the U.S. “doing the right thing” by not funding this are infuriating. Do people not realize that if this cannot be controlled there, it can quickly become a global epidemic? US is not immune. Wake up!!
