This along with her upbringing and loss traumatized her so much that when Abner grew up, she couldn’t let him leave. The thought of him leaving her drove her insane. She didn’t feel that way about his younger brother. And her trauma made Abner feel trapped himself cause he couldn’t go and have his own life.
