I used to be a health inspector (private sector now) but whenever I inspected a Costco they would send me a handwritten thank you note and a corrective action plan for anything I documented during the inspection (it never was anything major)

I work as a contractor for a poultry facility that sells to Costco. The facility had to install additional emergency exits and signage because Costco felt it was necessary to keep the workers safer.

I've been in sales calls with Costco, and they point blank give you their safety/traceability requirements and if you can't meet it they won't even bother looking at products. it's crazy strict/reactive, in a good for consumers way!

Former employee here (I graduated college) they were an amazing employer while I was in college and they even helped pay for some of it alongside 1000 other college student employees.

As a servesafe proctor I've always been impressed with the behind the counter operation at Costco. Very high standards. I've never seen any non compliance since I started in 2017.
