@layinkasanni: Our deen isn't a deen of feeling. Yet, somewhere and somehow, we've decided that it is. That if our salah doesn't stir our hearts, it's lacking. That if we're not ugly crying when making du'a, we're not asking deep enough. If we're not bringing vim and ibadah feels routine, then we're insincere. And, sadly, in some cases, we've gone as far as to call it hypocrisy. I want to sit with what that does to us because when we're calling into question our showing up, we may feel like there's no point in doing so. Whew! How Shaytan can play us.
