@athenasdriedflower: Alcippe was a mortal princess, the daughter of Ares and Aglaurus. One day, Halirrhothius spotted Alcippe near the Acropolis in Athens and brutally assaulted her. Enraged by the attack on his daughter, Ares rushed to the scene and killed Halirrhothius on the spot to defend Alcippe and avenge the crime. Furious over his son's death, Poseidon demanded that Ares stand trial for murder. The Olympian gods gathered as a jury on the very hill where the killing took place. Ares argued that he acted justly to protect his daughter from a rapist. The gods agreed, and Ares was acquitted. This became the first murder trial in mythological history.
