my Dad was a single Dad but he earned the title of being the best Dad on the planet (to me) not because he told me over and over he was but because when he messed up he fixed it, he fought to get me out of bad environments, took me to therapy even when I just wanted to rot, got the women in his life to help me figure out things like how to wash your hair correctly and period stuff, not because he thought I was disgusting but because he acknowledged the limits of what he could do for me.

My boss would go on about what a good dad he was to his daughter but his daughter’s mom was named “b*tch” in his phone and the “she fkn hates me” song would play every time she texted. Like, do you think it would be ok if your daughter’s ex treated her like that? Is that the standard you want to set?

Umm thats a lie. Women are always patting themselves on the back, especially on FATHERS DAY! Also single fathers are STATISTICALLY better parents and produce far batter results.

Exactly. My dad wasn’t the best dad by any means but he certainly wasn’t as bad as a lot of the ones you hear about on this app. Like he’s just a chill, possibly neurodivergent 60 year old man, works in finance but not a “finance bro” and just has his own geeky interests. Like he got called gay by his colleagues for ages because he refused to step out on us and go to a strip club with them and he’s never been like “I’m such a good dad for not going with them” or anything to that effect
