Dalam paparan di Rapat Dengar Pendapat (RDP) DPR RI, Rabu (3/6), KAI menyebutkan pengadaan 30 trainset untuk KRL Jabodetabek membutuhkan anggaran sekitar Rp 8,7 triliun (Rp 8.705.238.000). Nilai ini disebut dalam perkiraan anggaran yang dibutuhkan KAI untuk peningkatkan kapasitas KRL Jabodetabek hingga 2030, bersama rencana KRL Cikarang-Cikampek (sekitar Rp 1,28 triliun), KRL Bogor-Sukabumi (Rp 1,28 triliun), peningkatan kapasitas Tanah Abang - Rangkasbitung (Rp 1,58 triliun), pembangunan dan ekspansi depo Rangkasbitung, Bogor, dan Cikarang (Rp 900,7 miliar), dan pembangunan stabling - perpanjangan peron (Rp 584,4 miliar). Namun dalam RDP tersebut, tidak dipaparkan lebih detail tentang pengadaan 30 trainset KAI Commuter, karena Dirut KAI Bobby Rasyidin langsung meloncat ke pembahasan pengembangan rel KA Sumatera.
