Ramsey Robinson was never going to win. I say this is someone who supports a lot of his platforms. And many of the things he wanted to accomplish, can’t really be done in a governor role. Tom Steyer has less experience than Xavier Beccera. And you guys are really pick and choosy about which billionaires are “ethical”.

I think there’s some missing context here. The voter in question is choosing between the 2 *viable* Dem candidates. Because of CA’s open primary system, a vote for an unviable Dem candidate is basically a vote to have a Republican on the ballot in the general election this fall. I had to make this same choice myself. I would’ve preferred to vote for a DSA candidate or similar, but I had to hold my nose and vote for one of the viable candidates. (Note that by “viable” I mean specifically a Dem candidate who appears to have the votes to beat the Republicans in this specific primary.)

california is in a lose lose situation with the dem options. us californians know this. instead of dunking on “idiots that vote against their own principles” just remember that above all, that people are trying to find a way to keep as much as their principles while avoiding a republican governor at the same time. self-betrayal is now engrained in our politics out of survival thinking.

I understand people’s reluctance to vote for a billionaire, but like come on. FDR was a class traitor too. I don’t think we should let class traitors lead our movement by any means (that lead to mistakes on FDR’s part) but they can be in the movement.
