Girl if you feel like you are functioning well without it - stay off! I just got off lexapro after several years and it was HELL going through the withdrawal process. Using other tools and techniques to handle anxiety/depression has been so empowering!

Respectfully, you must have been on a pretty low dose, because the withdrawals from that med are bonkers. It took me over six weeks to come off of it and onto a different med last year. A couple of years ago, I had an issue with my refills and went without it for a week and I literally had to call out of work because I couldn't drive or even think properly.

I was on them for 6 years had an easy weaning experience and been off them for 10 years now and honestly they did heal me.

I quit my ssri cold turkey about 3 years ago and I was totally fine, haven’t needed it since. I’ve had some panic attacks here and there but they were triggered by something and I was able to resolve them on my own. Obviously it’s not great to just quit like that but I guess it’s possible to not have any insane reactions. I did do it once before last time though and that was very bad lol so I probably shouldn’t have done it again but I did and all is well 😁

When I was on Lexapro it made my anxiety so much worse my inner thoughts went crazy I got off and realized my anxiety and depression isn’t as bad as I thought.

I had no ssri withdrawal from lexapro and I was on 20mg for the last few years. The pristiq though I was on before lexapro getting off that was wild.
