my kid is autistic and had a stuffed animal he carried all through middle school. he said no one ever made fun of him for it. he says the popular kids are popular because they are nice.

gen z here, there's still some bullying but it's usually less physical and more psychological, so it's harder to see. anime and all that is fine but there's always ppl who'll find something else to bully ppl about

it reminds me of an observation of some howler monkeys in the jungle, all the violent older males died from disease and the younger males that survived were raised by the mothers and never learned to be violent and instead they learned the behaviour of the calmer more nurturing mothers and the tribe became more prosperous and healthy, and all it took was a small break from the standard and a new setting for the babies to grow up in , kind of like how the lockdown was for us, we became more open and accepting

idk my school is still pretty bad i know a couple kids who transferd schools because the bullying was so bad. I get verbally bullied alot and have been shoved around before, luckily one of them got expelled for pushing someone down the stairs. But i think hes coming back im cooked

Legit never had a ”popular” or ”cool” kids in school? Or in general? I live in sweden and that seems like such a USA thing where groups form. We had groups naturally because some are better friends but nobody was considered the ”cool” kids.

gen Z here. People bully each other subtly or indirectly so they don't get in trouble or shamed for being a bully. rumors, glares, patronizing, etc. it's basically never physical.

There aren’t “cool kids” but there are popular kids. The only thing is that unless you already are popular, you dont want to be popular. Theres no desire to fit in with the “popular kids” because you can be who you want to me. And there are so many cliques that you can always find a group to fit in with.
