It's not new, they've known this for years. Which is why quantum safe algorithms were formally standardized in 2024. Transitioning is the problem for decentralized platforms though.

They are not stable and fault-tolerant enough to threaten encryption.. Also, even when they stabilize, they still will rarely be commercially used. Another thing, never use the investor in the tech as the source to validate information. I have spent time talking with a PhD student in the field and he completely said it’s overhyped.. Feel free to research the stability of physical and logical qubits (to anyone)

the quantum computing threat should be taken seriously. Google have stated they are only allowing themselves until 2027 to find a replacement for current security methodology which will at some point become vulnerable.

I just saw some old screenshots where Alon Flake described all of this in detail way back in his book. The fact that he got it so insanely accurate is crazy enough. But the scariest part is that the book feels like a literal warning... Everyone just thought it was pure fiction.
