Here’s what’s new and what you need to know 👇 1️⃣ Lower Target Glucose — now down to 100 mg/dL You now get six target options from 100–150 mg/dL, giving you and your provider way more flexibility to fine-tune your control. Real-world data shows lowering your target can boost time in range without a meaningful increase in lows. 📈 2️⃣ Smarter automation + better alarm handling The updated algorithm helps you stay in Automated Mode longer with fewer interruptions — even during those stubborn prolonged highs. Less babysitting, more living. ✨ 3️⃣ FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus integration (US) 🩸 Omnipod 5 now works with Abbott’s Libre 3 Plus sensor here in the US — a small 15-day sensor that streams glucose readings right to your Pod. Caregivers can also follow along through Abbott’s LibreLinkUp app. More sensor choice = more freedom. ❓FAQ / LOGISTICS: 🔹 Do I need a new pod? Yes, compatible pods will have a black dot with “R1” on the Tray Lid and box label. They will be available through pharmacy channels over the course of the summer. Please note that there are two types of new pods: 1) those compatible with Dexcom G6/G7, and 2) those compatible with Libre 2+/3+. 🔹 Do the new pods require a new prescription? Dexcom users will not need a new prescription because the new pods have the same NDC code. Libre 3 Plus users will need a new prescription for the new Libre-compatible pods. 🔹 Do I need a new software update? Yes, the two algorithm updates comes to ALL US users — new and existing — via an over-the-air software update through your Controller or mobile app. 🔹 When do I get it? The software update rolls out via OTA update over the next few days.
