Totally disagree don’t know if you are and adding or struggled with it, but If it wasn’t for the fellowship and the 12 step program I would be dead or in prison it has saved my life and I’ll be apart of it for the rest of my life 🙏

I agree with the fact that connection is powerful and is the beginning of anyone’s recovery because isolation/separation is at the centre of addiction however the one person you talk about, who you identify with and who you form the bond with from whichever 12 step meeting you’ve been attending will, in order to give what was freely given to them, need to take you through the book and the 12 steps..so your intro about “forget God, forget prayers, forget service” etc is impossible if you want what this person, who you’ve bonded with , has…

People forget that 12 steps was the beginning of everything .. before 12 step there was mental institutions and labotomies .. After 12 step group therapy , talking therapies .. trauma informed workshops as they are now .. therapists .. abstinence

AA has saved my life and secured my children’s future as long as I do what’s expected and suggested I know I’m going to be ok because for so many years I never felt I was going to be everyone’s recovery is different and mine is so special to me
