I’m in a pretty similar spot. What’s helped me most is using downtime at work to handle life admin stuff like appointments, budgeting, or making grocery lists so it doesn’t eat into my free time later. I’ve also found that working for a company that actually cares about employee well-being and gives opportunities to volunteer or get involved in the community makes a bigger difference than I expected.

I try to find joys outside of work & that helps me so much. I’m fixing to start a 9-5 type job & I own a small biz and struggle with this sometimes. As a Christian, God gives me purpose so even tho I feel like I’m gonna be wasting my time at this job I’m gonna trust Him that it’s being used for good and find joy in places I never thought I could. Gratitude is something that really helps me too. I’m just kinda dumping things into this comment lol but when I’m feeling depressed by this bc it feels like no matter how hard I work or try I feel no purpose or see no future. But like I said now I have a future & a purpose bc of Jesus. I’m not perfect so I still really struggle but yeah idk if this made sense or helps someone but I relate to what you said. I’m trying to do better on social media for my business and personal. I’m not sure what the “American dream” is anymore. But I just pray that my days aren’t a waste that I use them to the fullest in anyway I can by God using me!
