If you want your AI policy to actually work, you need 3 things: • Approve specific AI tools There are tons of models out there. Pick the ones your company allows. Make it clear. If you don’t choose, your team will. • Provide an approved platform This is the big one. You can’t ban public AI tools and give people nothing. If you don’t provide a secure option, employees will use free tools and paste company data into them. • Monitor usage You need visibility. Who’s using AI? Which platforms? How often? If you can’t see it, you can’t manage it. No approved tools. No secure platform. No monitoring. Then your AI policy is just paper.
