I've heard the best thing to tell kids if they're lost is to stand still, and tell them to shout your name, not mummy or daddy, and to only approach other parents who are looking after children to ask for help

I do this with my kids whenever we go somewhere busy. Get them to repeat after me that they will stand still if they get lost, that they will shout my name instead of calling mum. And if all else fails that they approach a mum with children and ask her to call my phone and the number is on a sticker in their shoe.

Mines got a GPS tracker watch . He knows to stand still not move and mummy will come too him. No talking to strangers. Though thankfully never needed to use it.

My 3 are all over 18 now but I always used to tell them to stand still if we got separated because I can always retrace my steps but if they’ve wandered off it would be harder to find them x

Brilliant! I made my girl a beaded bracelet with my number on it and trained her up on asking for help. Never needed it but it always helped me feel a bit better.

it's just me :
I made my son beaded bracelets with our phone number on just in case we ever got split up. He actually learnt it really quickly with that and now knows both of our numbers.
