Genuine question: if a racial slur is racist in any capacity, would that entail for example Di Caprio being racist for playing a role as a slave owner in Django, while saying the n-word? Also, I do think it’s acceptable in certain contexts. For example, quoting from a book to emphasise a point about racism in a historical context. I feel like it’s indirectly racist to actually not say it in a given context, since by not saying it, you neglect the historical impact that certain word had.
