Madeline, I’m sorry to hear you’re not going to be able to sub anymore. Have you considered getting a full-on teaching license? Not sure how accessible that path is in Oregon, but lord knows the world needs good teachers! I could also absolutely see you building a business around horticultural children‘s education. You’re a wonderful and natural teacher.

Im so sorry this happened to you. A teacher surplus? They’re laying them off? I’m too Southern for that we don’t get that here. Being a sub here is easy, lots of SAHMs do it for extra cash without any special training. Would a private school be an option? Sometimes they’re more flexible about things & given you have experience might be something to explore

I’m so sorry friend! I was a teacher for 15 years (before my son was born with medical complications). I know you probably got it covered but if you need to brainstorm getting something in the education field again, you can dm me anytime! Also, more content sounds great tho 😂😂😂

maybe a thought for next year, but I wonder if you could offer flower arranging classes? if you did a language of flowers TT series, I bet it would drive engagement for that, as well! I volunteer in an organization where I teach some classes about my interests, and things like that appeal to a range of people!

I don’t know how private schools pay subs there and if they require licenses (they don’t require licenses here for subs), but you might look into that.

What a bummer! I can’t believe they’re laying off teachers, over here they can’t keep enough teachers in the classroom. I personally would love to hear about the financial aspects of the farm, I just started this year and am always interested in hearing how other people are making it work.
