After 18 months of exhausting litigation and strictly limited parenting time, Maximus and I finally unlocked our very first vacation window together. This trip was more than just a getaway; it was the first time in a year and a half that we’ve had more than three consecutive nights to just exist in each other's energy, bond, and rebuild our routine. ​Ever since he saw an episode of "Kylie Makes It" filmed at the WonderLab Science Museum in Bloomington, Indiana, he hasn't stopped asking to go. Because it was out of state, legal barriers kept us grounded—until now. ​We didn't let a tight window stop us. We drove four hours out, spent three incredible hours exploring every exhibit, laughing, and learning, and then drove four hours straight back home all in the same day. Eight hours on the road for three hours of pure, uninterrupted joy. Every single mile was worth it to see his smile and show him that his father will always move mountains to meet him where his dreams are.
