They have a lifespan. Probably 5-7 years. It will have a date on it.

It probably is out of date. Even changing the battery won’t stop it from chirping. They have a date on them and need to be replaced after 5 years past the date on the unit

rv? There should be an on/off switch to turn it off. Same sounds mine made until I found it and shut it off
