@sike_paint: This dude pulled up Saturday morning with his red Golf 6 GTI, freshly waxed, fully convinced a custom paint job was gonna transform his life. Dark gradients, burnt red reflections, aggressive black lines across the panels — basically asked me to scratch his own car on purpose. I let him talk, then told him we were doing it my way. Thin coats, hand-traced lines, worked shadows. The materials? Almost nothing. A few pigments, some clear coat. The invoice? Seven thousand five hundred dollars. Between you and me, I'm not exactly a Golf GTI guy — so I charged accordingly. When we pulled it outside it didn't look like a red hatchback anymore. Looked like an art car.
