@delawareonline: A Smyrna father has been charged with murder in the death of his 10-year-old daughter. He was also charged with the continuous abuse of his other two children, Delaware State Police said. A preliminary investigation found 49-year-old Badara Kone disciplined his daughter, Fatima Kone, by striking her numerous times with a leather belt on May 28, police said. While being struck, the child fell and "is believed to have hit her head on a piece of furniture," the release said. The girl's two male siblings, ages 15 and 11, assisted the girl to her bedroom, according to police, but 911 was not called for "an extended period of time." Police found the child dead in her Oakywnn Circle bedroom, in the Heritage Trace community, around 2 a.m. May 29, a news release said. Read more on this story at the link in bio.
