@corporatedropout_mom: High performers often become targets in chaotic workplaces because they notice problems, inefficiencies and accountability gaps before others. Over time, they can find themselves carrying more responsibility, receiving more criticism and feeling increasingly disconnected from their work. If you are experiencing this, don’t automatically assume you are the problem and get sucked into the drama. Healthy workplaces value employees who identify issues and contribute solutions. #corporatelife #careeradvice #officelife #corporatetiktok #highperformer

This is exactly what I have been saying at my new job this whole time and instead of the training and everything else being the issue I’m now somehow the issue. Thank you for putting it into words.

When you bring up problems they see it as you forcing people to actually do their jobs. Learned that the hard way.

This hit home hard. Recently received my lowest performance review (have always had exceeds expectations) and was told I need to work on my communication and patience (2 of my top strengths from the previous leadership). Safe to say, I'm actively interviewing for new jobs.

The only solution I’ve found for this is leaving this type of workplace.

I think that’s why a lot of the newbies didn’t like me last year. I was able to be myself where they couldn’t and they often started stuff with me because I wasn’t tolerating it.

I got told recently I am not a team player, because I already tripled my own KPI’s and no one else had even met theirs… even though all month I was told I couldn’t support the rest of the team with KPI’s as they need to do it themselves 🫩

yeah I had a workplace just like this, where all the work was people just sending messages on Teams discussing the work that needed to be done rather than letting people have autonomy to do the work. I started setting boundaries so I could do the work and was let go pretty fast 🙃

Me at this exact moment!!! Trying to streamline processes to work smarter not harder. My ideas are pretty much passed over which results in a reactive process not proactive. It’s very frustrating

I literally just got fired from work because of this. I had already spoken up when the chaotic problems suddenly started landing on my desk - and no one wanted to be held accountable. Adding to the situation, I lost my mum, which sent me into a deep hole of grief and sorrow, and I simply couldn't handle the dysfunctional behaviour anymore. They responded by firing me by claiming I was the problem and was too difficult to work with. Within a matter of weeks, I lost my mum, my job, my colleagues, my otherwise stable life and, not least, my confidence. Part of me knows I was used as the fall guy, but I'm feeling so sad and defeated that I don't know how to bounce back 😢

I don’t feel comfortable thinking I am a high performer, I am a senior leader and do achieve but as I challenge the Board regarding workplace culture and unsafe healthcare environments and systems regularly I am gaslighted constantly by my directors
