When a Russian manicure is done incorrectly that’s what usually happens . Pain , dry cuticles , extreme growth of cuticle . Russian manicures CAN be done safely and with out any pain . It just take a lot of detail , time and education . Know the right technique and using the right product . But I do agree is not for everyone.

There’s too many people who claim to do Russian manicures. REAL Russian manicures do not cause damage. It’s just like any other service. If don’t correctly it’s fine, but any untrained tech will fuck up your nails and skin.

Russian Manicures are definitely not for everyone, it takes time, precision and it’s not something u can honestly just go around saying u do, I think some nail techs are following a trend without being properly trained. Depending on my clients cuticle and all the extra dry skin around the nail I will recommend a Russian manicure. It’s not the same as doing a regular prep. Personally for me it is necessary. I respect your opinion tho.

I like them every now and then but I don’t want that invasive of a manicure every time and unfortunately my salon doesn’t do a polish change past a certain point and only offers Russians but no one else can get the manicure to last and keep my nail bed healthy🥲

Russian manicures are the best service I ever experienced and I've been getting my nails done for 30 yrs. Super clean don't break. No polish missing etc perfection

I love Russian manicures but I understand what you’re saying also. The thing is, a lot of nail techs don’t clean the cuticles when doing nails. I never get lifting or any issues with the Russian manicures. My nails grow out so beautifully
