Influencers love to call things “parasocial” when it’s negativity, but it goes both ways. Blind praise and unconditional support is just as parasocial as hate, and Id argue is WEIRDER. You can’t accept extreme praise like it reflects reality and then dismiss all criticism as just “parasocial. If you’re applying it to one side, it applies to the other too.

I met jessi at the airport!! She was so sweet! I have been a SLOMW binge watcher, so seeing her irl was surreal. She was hands down such a beautiful person and even though she probably didn’t want to because the girl was in the middle traveling, she took the time to ask about me, when all I cared about was her. She truly is so sweet and meeting her in person made me love her even more!! Ik you probably may not see this, but thank you jessi for being so sweet and taking the time to talk!🤍

I understand your point but just like every other job comes with some negative things, so does this. When you chose to share your life and yourself publicly, you can't get only positive comments. Should people mind their own business and not share hate? Sure, but that's not how society works and unfortunately that is the prize you have to pay for the job you do
