They need animals, something to look after every day and look forward to. Something that loves them but is low maintenance enough to be cared for by staff. Cats, low maintenance birds in common areas, fish, etc.

I love this. I wish all nursing homes did this. They enjoy it so much. My grandma was allowed to keep her two cats and her big screen TV in her room.

it makes me cry that some of the elderly lose their memories. it's just not fair to me to have lived and then to not remember what you've done and who you know. I'm glad you're helping to bring some light into their world ❤️it makes me hopeful

We had strays on the property of the mental hospital and one was very cuddly and always slept in the entrance of the building. When I couldn’t sleep or was just having a hard time she was always there and let me pet her. Miss you Paula 🫶🏻

this is so important❤️i volunteer at a cat shelter and it absolutely breaks my heart when folks have to surrender their cat because they are going into special care or memory care. thank you so much for doing this
