I hate hearing young adults say bad stuff about their parents. Most parents would do anything for their children. Kids have no idea of the challenges their parents had to overcome just to provide shelter and food for them. Maybe your parents weren’t perfect. Cut them some slack.

Every generation goes through this. It’s normal to take the good and leave the bad. Parents are human and we make mistakes but when you become a parent you will make mistakes also and the cycle goes on. No one is perfect but we try. At least most of us do.

The whole concept is to achieve more than your parents not just financially but spiritually, every generation has greater opportunities than the last one, your parents did what they could with what they had and so did their parents but you don’t want to say you don’t want to be like them, they are the reason you are here

I remember a scene from euphoria and rue was narrating, and she said that for kids, you can’t help it if you don’t like your parents (bc they were raised by someone else). but for parents since they raised YOU, if they don’t like their kid, then that’s their fault. i think we all fall victim to the same cycle.
