Also don't look for him too hard if that makes sense, he's likely observing you and if you're constantly trying to find him he'll just hide longer. Go about your daily lives and if he sneaks out for a better look just chill, pretend it's no big deal, he'll relax much faster

He will eat at night when you’re asleep. He knows where the food is.

Our cat hid behind the sofa for 3 weeks when we moved house. She got over it. Just needed this me to adjust

3-3-3. 3 days to hide, 3 weeks to settle in, 3 months until they're comfortable enough to show full personality

So here is the only thing, check the washer everytime, check the dryer everytime, check the stove if you commonly leave it open to cool stuff, every time.

Cats often don’t eat during changes and stress. Keep the food fresh and clean and water.

You basically have to continue living like you did not get a cat. Then they’ll just appear one day and want you. But everything is always on the cat’s timeline, no matter where the cat came from or when you got it or how long you’ve had it. 😅😅😅🥰

I cried for an hour right after I adopted my first cat bc I couldnt find him anywhere. He nonchalantly poped out of the closet from behind the linens 20 mins later 😭

This princess hid so well when we moved we swore that she got out. Cats will hide in the smallest and darndest places

When you find him, i would recommend moving him and all his things into a room and closing the door for a day or two. That way he can get used to all the new scents and explore one room at a time to not be overwhelmed. Being released into a whole house can be really scary for a cat.

He's probably going to come out soon. he looks super friendly in this video. He's probably just sleeping and getting used to your smell. I agree with the other comments. he's probably in your couch or box spring if you have one. I got rid of my box springs for this reason. if you and your partner aren't home, he's probably out exploring.

he will eat eventually. have dry food out all the time and give wet food once to twice a day even if he doesnt eat it so he starts to understand the food routine

Patience is key. My rescue guy took 3 months before he would come out of hiding. Once he did, he was my shadow. Wherever I was, he was. My sweet Stewart.

Check out the 3-3-3 rule. He's just scared due to the new environment. Give him some time and he'll come out. If he comes to you, reward with treats and offer your hands for him to smell. Don't grab at him or try to force contact. Cats are usually pretty cautious. If you respect his space, he'll develop a deeper trust for you.

Cats will come to you when they’re ready. He’s probably somewhere really quiet hiding and watching. And getting comfortable to the noises and since and things going on around.

Do you live in an apartment? If so, look for spaces under the cabinets. Two of my cats found the cabinet spaces in my apartment.

When you do find him, pick a room in your house to contain him in with his litter box and food. He can create a sense of safety in that room and soak it in his scent - visit him in the room, it will feel safer than a whole new house to get used to

If it helps; I have 6 cats and still occasionally lose one in my home. I used to freak out but cats are experts at hide and seek. Just give it time 💜
