I found an OE starter on Rock Auto for my S4 for $287. German places around town wanted $1000ish (for the part only). Only difference was it didn’t come in an Audi box, it came in a Valeo box. I understand the markup on parts but it is getting a little out of hand

See the problem is people can look parts up so when you’re charging 3000 and he finds it for 200 or even 500 you should start offering multiple different options not just a OEM 3000 not everybody cares about that and just take your lifetime #Warranty your way if they use that other option

It blows my mind how many people waste their money on “extended” warranties. they are a complete joke. You constantly get the runaround like what happened in this video. It’s a complete waste of money.

If you have the money to buy a Porsche and and then get the job done that’s only $3000 and then search the Internet for the same part they replaced from like rock auto or probably even Amazon that’s not OEM part show me driving the Porsche

I don’t understand how people are blaming the shop for the price of parts. They gave the customer a price. He was within his rights to take the vehicle to another shop. He could have ordered the part and did the work himself or paid a buddy. There were a lot of options but he chose to accept the price given by the shop and authorize the work. Once he agreed to the price and work, it doesn’t matter what a part can be bought for online. He owes the shop money for the work. He if feels like he got a bad deal, then he needs to make smarter decisions in the future.
