As a fun fact water in bulk is blue. The ocean doesn’t look blue because of the sky it’s just a property of water itself from hydrogen bonding. So that’s also why it’s stops looking blue when you pull it out the ocean it can’t extensively hydrogen bond anymore.

The ocean is blue . Has yall never see the two oceans that meet but never collide ? Two different blues ! Turquoise and navy blue ! If the sky was blue then those oceans wouldn’t be different colors when they meet . The sky is blue but even deep sea is navy blue

Plaque is right. The water of the ocean is reflecting the sky making it appear blue. Im from Florida if you go out to the beach when the sun is not out and it is about to rain the ocean will look dim almost gray just like the sky

The original question was wether the ocean was blue or clear and the answer is clear but appears blue to the human eye because of the sunlight (which contains every color of the rainbow) bouncing back blue since it’s not easily absorbed
