@mikechaar: The jury has spoken and the verdict is…OVERPRICED! For 71% polyester and 29% wool, do you think the Heated Rivalry fleece jacket is too expensive? 👀 #heatedrivalry #heatedrivalryfleece #heatedrivalryjacket
For me there’s an issue with the company not disclosing the price before it went on sale

It sold out in ten minutes. Keep in mind, this one of a kind jacket was never meant to be reproduced, this company is making it a limited amount because we the fans asked for it. If the company was buying in bulk or used a lower quality, then then prices would come down. This is quality over quantity. +10% of the proceeds are being donated.

This is unacceptable and clearly a money grab. Very disappointing.

It’s over priced. I was so excited to pre order today, but I just can’t justify it.

Trying to justify the price by saying it’s ethically made in Canada and 10% goes to charity doesn’t make sense. If you compare the price of their other products, even with a 10% charity markup, it’s not adding up. The price was marked up based on the predicted demand. And I guess they were right because it sold out within 5 mins. But saying “that’s what good quality, ethically made in Canada clothing costs” is ridiculous. That being said, if someone bought one and it makes them happy, I’m happy for them.

They have their regular fleece jackets that are $198 CAD (that fits your dad’s estimate). And while I am happy that some of the net profits are going to an LGBTQ+ sports charity, and I like that the brand’s goal is to use ethically sourced materials and pay their employees liveable wages. But I am absolutely see a good amount of the pricing of the fleece jacket is the collaboration/branding with Heated Rivalry. They most likely have a licensing agreement fee with them and not sure how much that costs and if royalties are included. And with the show being popular also boosted the price. Personally wished it was more affordable but happy that it sold out.

It’s supply and demand. The jacket is worth what the market will bear.

They mark these things up knowing, with full confidence, that it’s not going to stop the product from selling out. Merch of any kind has rarely been accessible to most of the fandom because genuinely who has just $400 to be spending on a merch jacket

Yes 385 is really expensive. Charity, the branding of heated rivalry, limited edition are big factors. My mum got one and asked if I wanted one? If it had been even $300 I would ordered it. Idk why the $85 was a deal breaker, maybe because it pushes it to be nearly $400?

As someone who buys merch quite often, It makes sense to me. With the limited quantity it’s basically a collectors item. So I expected the price to be high, even without factoring in that it’s not manufactured in china or India. I also noticed the quality of the inner-lining and patches details. Then you have them donating a percentage of the proceeds and having the donations matched by the NHL and NHLPA. So yeah makes sense. as far as merch goes I’ve paid the same price for less, honestly

MADE IN CANADA. This means fair wages, not a sweat shop & it’s LIMITED. It’s worth every penny. If you think it’s too expensive this just means you can’t afford it

It's made wholly in Canada, not in a sweatshop, plus they are donating 10% to charity. They would also have had to pay licensing fees. Anything made by a small company in limited capacity would have higher costs to make, we can't compare it to huge corporations. I'm sad I'm not able to afford it, far too unemployed for that, but honestly the pricing makes sense to me, it was never going to be of Temu quality & quantity.

But add in the novelty of it. I just sold three action figures on eBay for $150 a piece. A plastic toy. I'm just saying.
