Then someone builds a self-hosted AI platform that gives them exactly that. And suddenly the first question becomes: "Can it run on my laptop and perform anywhere near ChatGPT's level?" That's not criticism. It's reality. Most people don't want to manage servers. Most people don't want to troubleshoot GPUs. Most people don't want to become their own IT department. They just want AI that works. Maybe the future of AI isn't about choosing between local AI and cloud AI. Maybe it's about finding the point where privacy and convenience can finally coexist.
