Batch on Budget Ep. 5 - Classic Lasagne!🍅 Ingredients:  Base (Finely Chopped):  1 Onion 3/4 Garlic Cloves (minced)  2-3 Carrots  1 Stick of Celery  Generous Olive Oil / Butter  2tsp Salt 1tsp Crushed Pepper  500 - 600g Beef Mince  4 Fresh Tomatoes (optional) 2 Cans of Plum Tomatoes  3tbsp Tomato Puree  Fresh herbs - Oregano, Thyme, Rosemary, Bay Leaf (tie together / put in seasoning bag to simmer)  Parmesan rind (simmer whole rind in)  1.5tsp Ground Cumin  1tsp Ground Coriander  1.5tsp Paprika  1.5tsp Garlic Powder  1.5tsp Onion Powder  1tsp All Purpose Seasoning (any) (optional)  Pinch of Nutmeg  1tsp Brown Sugar  Bechamel:  2tbsp Butter 2tbsp Flour Pinch of Salt & Pepper  1tsp Garlic Powder  400ml Milk 100g Cheddar Cheese  100g Mozzarella  Handful of Parmesan (Boursin optional) Pinch of Nutmeg  Toppings:  Sun Dried Tomatoes  Chives  Basil  Parsley  Parmesan  Recipe: - Mince your garlic and dice up your carrots, onions and celery  - In a pan, with oil at medium heat, sautee your garlic and veg mix with salt  - Add the oils of the sun-dried tomatoes and keep caramelising until softened and reduced (15 mins)  - Add your fresh tomatoes and let simmer for 10mins with the lid on, then peel off the skin and mash it all up  - Add your beef and seasonings, cook on high heat 10 mins  - Add your plum tomatoes, puree and water - Let this mix simmer on medium low heat for 30mins minimum - In a separate pan, melt your butter and add your seasonings.  - Add your flour until a paste is formed and cook for a couple of mins - Gradually add your milk until a smooth sauce is formed.  - Add your cheeses and mix  - Layer your lasagne with uncooked sheets and choice of toppings  - Bake with foil on top for 45 mins at 190 C (For package Pasta Sheets).
