I think you also need to account for pre release popularity. Phainon, Scara and Varka (and even Blade and Neuvi but lesser time frame) were heavily anticipated characters. Wuwa unfortunately doesn't tend to build too much hype for their characters in general but especially for the men. Their only constant male is Scar and he's so far in the basement he's basically part of the floor and they'll probably do a ZZZ and release him as a Cam side grade and in-between two huge buff characters that happen to both be women.

Hsr and genshin player bases are larger than wuwa so by default they’ll get more sales… not to mention the stats you pulled up solely represent IOS mobile sales, I shouldn’t need to say this but wuwa is not played on mobile to the extent of Hsr and genshin due to being a more demanding game both graphically and gameplay wise

Reason why Blade sold well is because he a broken universal support and also rise everyone favorite emulator(Archron) from the dead. Sure male characters can sell but they have to be pretty broken kit wise.

I stopped playing WuWa after Hiyuki, and I was extremely addicted to the game ever since its release. I also got S6R2 Brant, all my limited 5* are with their signatures, I have every single character from 1.x and most of my characters are S2. I was kinda okay with the story in Rinascita and the characters, but I slowly started losing interest. I do play Genshin and HSR (used to play ZZZ, but it gots too out of hand with the child models, the story is not as interesting for me since 2.0 and the male to female ration is crazy there) and these games got my money now - I am not f2p and I’m gladly giving my money when I like something. I have no intentions to return to WuWa and it hurts when it was like my favorite

they generally just do not sale, dont get me wrong i LOVE luuk and i think he is the most meta unit if paired with denia, But even characters like quiyuan and brant proved male characters do not sale.

yeah, surely it isn't also the fact that blade is one of the best supports in the game currently and with insane damage and phainon had like 5 patches of character development and was one of the best DPS units in the game
