He’s been at Devore Shelter since June 2, 2026 and is currently in kennel D15. There’s something very intentional about the way he watches everything around him, like he’s trying to understand the world before he steps fully into it. He’s not shut down, not reactive, just thoughtful and steady in a place that rarely allows either. He has already had a kennel mate and did well, showing he is dog friendly and able to share space without tension. He adjusts instead of resists, reads instead of reacts. Once he feels safe, his curiosity comes forward in a really genuine way, like he wants to connect but is waiting for the moment it finally feels right. Boots feels like a dog who will completely change outside of the shelter, not because he becomes different, but because he finally gets the chance to be what he already is without the pressure of this environment. Shelters are full, and dogs like Boots don’t get noticed by being loud.
