how I built my core 🧱 I often get asked a lot about my core work and what my core routine is. To put it simply, I don’t have a ‘routine’, but I do have a way that I train it and exercises that have helped develop strength. Other aspects I focus on: 1️⃣ Treat it like any other muscle group. You wouldn’t just chuck shoulders on at the end of your session, so why are you with your core? Use it as a super set in your sessions and train it like any other muscle 2️⃣ Progressive overload. Same applies here. Add weight, progress the movement or add tempo. Don’t just keep doing the same exercise, the same number of reps with the same weight. 3️⃣ Learn to brace & activate properly. If you are doing it right, most functional exercises should double as a core movement. 4️⃣ Train the different muscles. Upper, lower, obliques are all hit from different movements 5️⃣ Learn correct form & utilise breath when performing core movements. Don’t rush through them & make sure you’re doing them correctly.
