The dating to marry person seems so transactional, it doesn’t feel natural. like yes you can be intentional with you’re dating experience and know what you want out of it. But to immediately dismiss people instead of going through the whole process is a bit much.. but to each its own

Dating is okay. Dating someone when you want two different things is what doesn’t work. Stating your intentions ahead of time shouldn’t be an issue.

This is how I feel about dating apps saying short term dating open to long term. So you’re saying you wanna waste my time. And then without fail they try to convince you that that’s not what they mean and to give it a try.

I think you can be dating with intention and still not have to be dating to marry though. For example I know what I want in life and out of a partner (I don’t want kids and I need someone who will go on trips with me and explore the world and nature) but I’m still not going into every first date thinking “am I gonna marry this person” (I don’t even see marriage as a necessity but if I meet the right person I’d consider marriage)
